not sure what is west coast about this, its hazy, mostly dry hopped, and without much bitterness at all, super low alcohol too, not sure that makes much sense, but i like everything about the beer, including the packaging, super sharp labels on this one, very artsy and appealing. its not super dense, but definitely unfiltered, pale honey colored with a lovely inch of frothing and lasting white head comprised of tiny bubbles, really nice looking. aroma isnt quite amazingly fresh, but this is made a long way from idaho where i bought it, so some of that can be forgiven, the hop profile is still great. its citra forward to me, but thats not all, a southern hemisphere melon fruitiness in the nose, lime leaf, spruce, tangegrine, lightly weedy, somewhat delicate overall, not quite understated, but not overdone, well restrained i would say. the flavor is cool too, a little more up front, meyer lemon, lemongrass, fresh coconut water, watermelon rind, unfortunately just a little oxidation. i like how the malt is fluffy feeling and has great structure but is also dry and fully subservient to the hops, and i love the effervescence, this feels right for the style, excited, and the texture makes this drink fresher than it tastes. as it warms i get a little hop spice on the finish, still not very bitter, and an appreciably clean ferment. this is quality pale ale, very modern and very drinkable, another solid hoppy beer from marlowe overall.

A: The beer is clear light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of honeydew melon are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of melon along with notes of candy and hints of strawberries and lime.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a bit crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This pale ale isn't as piney and spicy as a West Coast Pale Ale, but has interesting aromas and flavors of melon.
