Located in Mamaroneck NY, Marlowe Artisanal Ales is a brewery focused on highly-drinkable beer, tacos, koji burgers, and good vibes. Our attention to detail stems from our love of the craft of beer and extends to art, food, hospitality, and beyond! We look forward to welcoming you into our home.

Marlowe is the name of Zac’s late grandfather. Our logo is his signature taken from the piece of music he composed for Zac’s parents’ wedding.

Our goal from the inception was to have a small brewery with a kitchen that focused on building a community over the love of all styles of beer, simple well-crafted food, and good vibes. We began as a side project out of the Twelve Percent Beer Project, where Zac was the head brewer brewing for 20-30 different brands. Keeping our long term goals in mind, the opportunity to start a small pub in Nyack, NY was presented to us in 2022 and we jumped at the prospect. Ultimately, it wasn’t the partnership that we were looking for and we closed quickly in early 2023 and within another month we re-launched in Mamaroneck, NY shortly after, taking over the space from Decadent Ales who was looking to pursue other ventures.

Our goal is to first and foremost build a community built on the love of craft and camaraderie. Second, we want to brew the best beer we possibly can, across all styles, and we keep a wide array available at all times. We have a small kitchen where we make some delicious and creative food that satisfy our culinary passions.

Oh, Westchester. I know I95 will not be kind to me today (fool me once) but it is the shortest distance between the two points; home and here. And then I’ll run the Hutch out the back side on return, who are we kidding? 5th time at Marlowe, 3rd time at this location, 1st time sans the collective. Attached to Half Time, Mamamro. There used to be something Decadent here…

White slab wraparound bar & barback counter, and a black & white mural painted base. Seating for 11 on brown leather chairs on the straight. A pair of 10 non-descript handled stainless ‘T’ towers, 5 & 5, on barback counter center, and glassware countered to both sides. Cooler space below the bar with cans, and bottles, crowlers, & glassware shelved down there, as well. Horizontal plank wood barback wall with a logo flag on center, and many alt height mix & match framed boards, each listing a draft or canned beer option chalked (beer, style, ABV, and pricing for short & tall). And a 2x3 vertical on the end listing wine, cider, N/A, & guest beers.

Concrete floors, I-beam uprights, and black painted ceilings with ducts & piping. Filament bulb decanter lamps tracing the bar, strung baby lighting back and forth between the bar and the windows, and drop filament bulb lamps in different shapes and configs about the room. Black & white mural to the rear alongside the kitchenings, and framed Marlowe prints for sale. Hanging & potted plants everywhere. A to-go cooler & merch at the far end of the bar, and the brewery around the corner tucked behind the barback. Nearly a dozen and a half tables; hightop recs off the bar and shorty squares on shared benchings below the far wall vertical windows shaded. And some outdoor patio seating area down that ramp there (me, pointing).

12 taps, a really good mix of Lager and Hop (I think I know, German Pilsner, 5%; Marlowe Light-ish, American Lager, 4.2%; Even Now, Still, Munich Style Helles Lager, 4.8%; The Time Between, French Pilsner, 4.7%; Sheldrake, English Mild, 4.4%; Eager to Share, American Pale Ale, 5.4%; The Broken and The Dead, American Brown Ale, 6%; William, DDH IPA, 6%; Simplicity in Motion, DDH DIPA, 8.5%; Ghost Signatures - Peacharine, NE IPA, 6.7%; Ghost Signatures - HBC 586, NE IPA, 6.7%; Ghost Signatures - Nectaron, NE IPA, 6.7%), and 2 cans (Low Bones, WC IPA, 7%; My Little Shadow, German Dark Lager, 5.4%).

No flights, but you can do shortys. So I will (The Broken and The Dead, Brown Ale, very nice, light, smooth, choco roasty, yep; Sheldrake, English Mild, pleasant, an easy drinker; My Little Shadow, German Dark Lager is actual fire. Like, chocolate, fuck, win column; Even Now Still, Munich Style Helles Lager, soft, really tasty; I think I know, German Pilsner, dry, lightly sweet, has a real good bite; Low Bones, West Coast IPA, absolutely solid). Helles, German Pilsner, West Coast IPA, Brown Ale, & German Dark Lager for the wins, but really, there was nothing here of the suck. The kid can brew.

I wanted in on food (wings, tacos, or maybe that crazy tempera shrimp special), but Mike was going on about hot dogs somewhere close by, so food didn’t happen. Chill house, and I'm diggin’ the tunes. This is one to watch. The beers are seriously really damn good.

...And a revisit due, I wandered in the other day and found their 6th anniversary event happening. Did I mention there’s now a handpump on the barback? Well, there is. Shortied a few in pairs as it’s twice as easy to get a beer(s) that way. Had a few favorites (Ossinger, Nuremberg Red Lager, 4.7%, collab with Brewery Novalis, malt, a touch sweety, fruity maybe, love, very nice version of the infrequently seen Rotbier style; Ploosh, ESB, 5.4%, biscuit, nutty, delightful, on both draft & cask, tried both; Collecting Stars, Belgian Witbier, 5.1%, orange, yep, coriander, yep, well done). Some really nice beers here.

Lively brewpub in the former Decadent space, sharing a building with Half Time. Straight bar opposite the entrance on the left seats about 10, with some tables about the room and a patio in the parking lot. 15 beers on tap, and single cans to go. Tacos were excellent.
