The Broken and The Dead pours a very dark brown, with a large, long-lasting head. The aroma has hints of oatmeal and bitter chocolate. The flavor has dark grains, oatmeal, and dark bitter chocolate notes. Good feel. Overall, it is a very flavorful brown ale with strong flavors.

Pours a very dark brown with a short cap of brownish foam. The aroma is heavy on coffee with hints of toffee and nuts. The flavor is similar coffee, nuttiness, some earthy, bitter hops. Underneath it all there is a faint caramel sweetness. The finish is smooth with good carbonation and a medium bodied mouthfeel.
This is a solid brown ale. A little heavy on coffee notes but I happen to like that. It's worth trying.
