An exceptional offering from Schlafly's, this brew imparts a very solid look and taste. The look is of a great amber brew topped with a gorgeous off-white head that was finely bubbled and quite solid. Lacing from this cap was tight and solid down through the glass.
The nose imparts a great sense of hops, being both citrus and piney in nature. Yet there is also a strong sense of a solid malt base in the nose as well. This is going to be good beer is the sense you get.
And good it is. The taste is a very fine bittered malt with just enough citrus tartness to impart the bitters without going over the top. To be sure there is a a good malting lying under the hops, yet they take center stage.
The feel is sold and well developed. The body is medium to full and gives a nice crisp finish. This is very drinkable beer for this fine brewer.

Glowing copper-amber color, foamy head, citrusy hoppy aroma. Medium-full bodied, taste of hop and balanced malts and a touch of rye, great bitterness, the cask is dry hopped and you can really taste it, a great ESB for hopheads.
