16oz can served in a footed pilsner glass. Don't see a date on it. Got it from @NorsemanOne in a trade.
Pours very slightly hazy dark amber with a smallish head that settles into a very even, very dense ring around the edge and a very light dusting collecting into a small island in the center of the surface. Smell is rich and grainy, wood and roast nuts, maybe hazelnut specifically.
Taste is sweet, hint of dates, nuttiness turns more into a figginess, maybe a little toffee. 10.5% abv is surprisingly absent. Just a little bit of a smokiness added to a slightly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel is light and dry (again, surprising, considering the style and the abv). Overall...I'm far from a wee heavy expert, but this is a really nice beer to drink.
