16oz can at the Beerhive. Dark brown pour, skin of beige head. Sweet, malty aroma, hint of booze, barleywine. Taste is malty and sweet, brown sugar. Really resembles a barleywine at every point.

Ended up having a can of this at that Bee Hive bar in SLC. Cool place, cool people working there.
Even though I was hoping to keep it sessiony on a weeknight (much less with "homework" from the bullshit woke trial academy) but they were out of a normal esb, so this recommendation could not be avoided.
Pours brown. Slightly darker than a normal "single esb". Thin head. 1/5" beige head. The aroma kicked down a nice blend of whiskey, dark oak like walnut and earthy brown like maltings.
The taste displayed a nice whiskey influence, yes, its very little in the same realm as a normal esb, but just chill. It doesn't go apeshit with the barrel aging, its just enough to give it a strong enough presence but not so much that it is pure domination. It melds nice with the darker floor malts. It doesn't taste like burning in the mouthfeel. Its smooth and appropriately lower in carbonation. I'm glad I checked it out after being slightly pessimistic when it was suggested. Better than it is on paper. Oasis reunion > Jane's Addiction.

16oz can poured into a weizen glass at fridge temp, and letting it warm.
No canning date.
Pours a nice umber color that turns into a brilliant amber when held up to the sun. Tan head that settles into a ring. 4.25
Aroma is upfront sweet barrel, with some stone fruit, fig, raisin, etc. 4
Taste follows but has more to offer. Gentle alcohol burn (perfectly pleasant imo) with some caramel, raisin, fig, dried plum and lingering sweetness. Really reminds me more of a Barleywine than an ESB. 4.25
Body is warming, but very subtly so. Very slight and soft carbo bite. Moderate to medium filling-ness. 4
Overall after reading a bit about it from the brewery and trying it, I'm going to pick up another or two just for aging. 4.25
