16oz can received as a gift from a friend. Canned on 10/09/2023, so this one is just over six months old.

Look: It is a pale straw color verging on light golden color with a very faint haze. There was a fluffy, rocky white meringue head of two and half fingers that eventually crumbled to a thin layer. There is nice carbonation rising up the glass, lots of small bubbles, which is helping to maintain a thin pillow of lacy head.

Smell: It smells like a solid Kosch-style ale. It has a very expressive earthy hop presence from the Hersbrucker hops and the Pilsner malt is also nicely defined and well-balanced. Smells kind of rubbery, almost skunky, which seems to be somewhat characteristic of this style and some of these German hop varieties. I get a subtle white grape and pear sweetness up front. Lemony / lemon peel also. There are also some very nice floral notes reminiscent of jasmine and chamomile. The malt is very crackery with just a bit of doughy notes. There's a soft peppery note on the finish. It smells really delicious.

Taste: It is very tasty. This is what a "light" beer should taste like! It is super drinkable, clean, and crisp. It has slightly fruity and aromatic flavors up front and the finish is dry with a strong bitterness that lingers for a while. There is just a touch of acidity that works well here. The lemony flavor works really well. It has a nice lemon peel flavor and then on the finish it is a bit pithy and has notes of lemon seed and lemon oil. I feel compelled to mention again that it's very tasty, really delicious.

Feel: It's light to medium bodied, yet it has a nice creaminess in part due to the nice head retention. Nicely and appropriately carbonated.

Overall: It's a really delicious beer that's both light and flavorful at the same time. It's a beer that you could easily either chug or sip and savor, and you would be very happy drinking this beer either way. This is probably the best Kolsch that I have had. It tastes really authentic, which is just so cool because it's coming from a brewery that is so local to me.

pretty authentic kolsch here, well made and real light to drink, but after dipping in to a number of their other cold fermented brews, this one doesnt quite hit like the others i had, more common i guess in terms of quality, where the others leaped right out of the glass at me as wow beers. a sunny yellow summer pour from the can, high white head, good clarity, lively carbonation, they really have this one looking polished, very inviting at happy hour time. the nose has that classic german pils malt base to it and also that familiar fruity waft from the ale yeast, to me this is a little less hoppy than many, but there is some grassy and european hop aspects to it, just somewhat subtle, balancing bitterness in the flavor with a light herbal freshness is all. mild orange and honey, rocky minerality and hardness, maybe a little tropical estery thing too, but still distinctly german and clean the whole way. the body is light, the ferment is crisp and this very much drinks like a lager, excellent carbonation seems to be the norm for human robot cans which i greatly appreciate in these styles. an easy drinker, definitely was after more than one can of this, but overall a little less striking than the others of theirs i was able to enjoy in close succession thanks to a hookup from my brother. solid but samey.

16 oz can

pours a clear light golden color, thick layer of foamy white head. good head retention, and some lacing left on the glass as I drink. aroma is doughy malt, a little floral hops, and mineral water. taste is similar - well balanced, starts a touch sweet but finishes with some balancing bitterness. thin to medium bodied, but coats the mouth a bit.

Hazed pale yellow with a finger-and-a-half of off-white head. Solid retention and great lacing. Bread and a little skunk in the nose. Sweet and slightly cakey tasting up front with some light bitterness in the finish. On the light side of medium bodied. Soft carbonation. A delicious kolsch. Highly recommended.

This beer was a clear golden color until the head receded enough to pour the last bit in the glass. It hen turned semi murky, but still golden. The head was white, 2 finger, frothy looking, long lasting, and good lacing on the glass.
The nose is malty, as expected. Grain, biscuit aroma, with a slight grassy aroma.
Malty throughout, grain, biscuit flavor. Slight hint of a wild funk. The backside has a nice hop flavor that rounds out this beer with a slight bitterness on the back.
The body is quite full for a 5% beer. The bitterness from the hops linger in my throat.
This is quite delicious.
