On draught at the brewery. Served in a tulip glass. It pour a cloudy, dark burgundy color with a thin, light khaki-colored head and minimal lacing. The nose is very fruity with notes of plum, fig, and raisin, along with coriander and cola. Its taste bursts with sweet, dark fruit, particularly plum and raisin, and red grape. It's well-spiced with coriander and hints of clove and black pepper. It finishes with a slightly dry bitterness. In sum, the flavor is spot-on for a Belgian Quadruple. Its mouth feel is thick and syrupy with appropriate carbonation. And while it's a big ale at 11% ABV, it drinks with surprising ease. Overall, this is a lovely Belgian Quad; I'm looking forward to the version aged in apple brandy barrels.

750 mL flip-top bottle. Catching up on old notes from May 2021.
Beautiful ruby color with brilliant clarity. Moderate light-tan head with fair retention. Rich, sweet malt aroma with loads of raising, prune, and fig. Trace amounts of alcohol picked up as well. Rich malt flavor and fruity, again. It's potent but not cloying or heavy, despite the high ABV. Actually finishes slightly dry for such a big, malty beer. Medium-heavy bodied and warming.
Happy 1st Anniversary to what has become my favorite brewery in NJ! A great beer for enjoying on a cool night by the fire pit.
