This beer pours amber and hazy. It is topped with a fleeting, beige head that leaves no trace.

Nice sour aroma. I get the watermelon. It almost smells like a watermelon Jolly Rancher with the sourness. Hints of funk.

Sour watermelon flavor. I definitely get a pretty sour watermelon Jolly Rancher flavor. It's sour with some watermelon in the middle then finishes sour. Nice

Medium bodied with a dry mouthfeel

Excellent sour. I really enjoyed the watermelon.

So a watermelon beer, I don't know that before this one I had one that I would recommend. But hey, I got down with this one.

Pours yellow. There is no watermelon influence on the color. Thin white head 1/5". Just looks like a "normal" beer. The aroma does yield to some watermelon notes, neat, smells more sour than saison, you know, all those wet hay, grain, lemon notes, well lemon is there. In these sour saisons, you often just get wild ale territory.

The taste relaxed me a bit, it wasn't just pure acidic wild ale sourness with fruit. This had a nice layered spelt, hay, grainish underbelly gently massaged with watermelon. In tandem, no part too domineering. The mouthfeel had a briny oak angle to it, drying effect, nice in retrospect. Its a delicate beer that appears to have been pulled off successfully. The sourness was sharp, but not more than a 6.5/10 and the acidity was probably 6/10.

I went into this skeptical, but came out impressed. Thanks to leftpaw for bringing it out.

Watermelon never has a great nose when put into beverages, but here it’s not bad. Almost a touch of fresh lumber, w/ mildly fruity, pressed juice kind of vibe. Palate sour and relatively acidic; good fresh watermelon flavor. Finishes with medium dryness.

“Fruited sour saison ale with local watermelons”

Blended sour ale with watermelons and peaches. 65% 14 month TN grain sour pale ale, 35% 24 month sour blonde ale with South Carolina Peaches.

Caged and corked bottled on 11.30.20, opened on 5.29.21, poured into a snifter

One finger white foamy cap, good retention, settles to a pencil thick layer with a cling ring over a translucent clear golden liquid , a few micro carbonation streams

Aroma of tart peaches on the pour, watermelon

Taste is tart watermelon , the watermelon is subtle and the tartness dominates , sour patch or jolly rancher watermelon . Funky, tangy , yeasty

Good sudsing , mouth puckering & quenching finish , smooth, dry finish

Good beer
