With a moderate acidity, particularly for a dark sour, Mélange Foncé (2023) has huge flavors of cola, cherry cordial, sarsaparilla, and chocolate covered cherry.

1 PINT can
Served in a stemless wine glass
Canned on 06/26/2023

This beer pours a murky brown color and is topped with a couple inches of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.

Tart, dark cherry aroma. It actually has a pretty good sour smell. Hints of cola.

Tart, black cherry. Ample sourness. Sour apple. Hints of chocolate.

Thinner bodied with a dryer mouthfeel

Delicious dark sour. Barrique makes some killer stuff.

16 ounce can - $5.00 at Woodstock Beer Market in Woodstock, Georgia.

Blend 5.

Appearance: Pours a russet-toned body with an initially frothy, light beige head.

Smell: Acetic aromatics with a vinous fruitiness, vinegar-soaked wood, subtle malt notes of chocolate/dark caramel and a mercurial camphor-esque phenolic vibe.

Taste: Toasted malt, light caramel, and a little chocolate with a bit of malty sweetness heralds a blend of fruits with an acetic, acidic bite. Red currants, black cherries, mandarin orange, black grapes in red wine vinegar. Fetid wooden staves, a little bourbon hiding in there. Moderately tart, drying finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Low carbonation.

Overall: A fun, fine blend.

Can into Pint Glass
Look: Opaque caramel-amber color, pouring a 2 finger tan head which dissipated into a thin cap
Smell: Got some oak tannin, vanilla, brown sugar. Musty yeast funk, some citric acid and touch cereal grains. medium strength
Taste: Lightly tart grape, cherry and some oak at first. Develops into some brown sugar sweetness and notes of lemon. Finish is a vanilla and cola esc, with some oak still present.
Feel: Medium body with moderate carbonation. Dry finish
Overall: Very interesting brew. But it tastes and smells great.

I've never heard of Barrique before, but I just couldn't pass this one up when I saw it on Tavour. A blend on Flanders Red and Oud Bruin? Yes please. Let's crack it open and find out what it's all about

Pours an opaque light brown with 2 fingers of creamy light beige head that fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing

It's not super funky in the nose like I was expecting, but it has a great tartness to it. I'm picking up on aromas of black cherry, dark bread, brown sugar, lemon juice, sharp oak, raisin, red wine vinegar, and raw grain

Things get even more subtle in taste surprisingly, but it's still damn good. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting black cherry, dark bread, vanilla, smooth oak, red grape, lemon zest, light caramel, and brown sugar. The swallow brings notes of brown sugar, dark bread, molasses, black cherry, dry oak, vanilla, red wine, and apple skin

A medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a sharp beer. Finishes bone dry with a subtle but nice tartness

This one is damn tasty. I wish it were just a tad more funky and/or tart but it's also great as is
