On cask at the brewery in a nonic.

Immediately post pull it was all cascading foam, but quickly cleared to a golden amber beer topped with two to three fingers of creamy head.

The aroma is something else, made of marmalade, crushed berry, and odd mintyness. It has a quality I can only describe as dish detergent freshness, but that means an effervescent freshness, not anything artificial.

The flavors try to follow and relay jammy, fruitiness. Rich, balanced, yet understated like most things English. Lightly herbal and bitter in the finish.

Medium-light body, little carbonation, somewhat silky.

Wow, I’ve never had an ESB like this.
