Pours a cloudy golden in color topped with an off-white head. So far so good. Great head retention.
Minimal "clove" character on the nose, but plenty of banana and bubblegum.
Taste is in keeping with the nose; Sweet and zesty on the first sip, with gentler carbonation. Unpasteurized (I believe), so the breadiness in the malt is there, and it is a sweetbread. ; ) Reminds me of a 'friendship cake' yeast starter combined with a white bread roll, and a big dose of bananas.
Lighter-bodied and very easy drinking -- an easy summer (or year-round?) sipper, and much easier for me to put down more than one of these than it would be for a Dancing Man (oooh, my head.)
At least better than average for the style, and with a sweetness which might make it more approachable to those who might be new to the style.

I casually opened the bottle... I was a little distracted... Looking on beer advocate... What's that smell?... Bread dough and delicious fruit... Is that the beer...wow.. I sniff the top of the bottle..Mmm that's it... Wow... I let it rest a little bit and it was so anxious... It's spontaneously began to crown head... Up the neck of the bottle... I poured it into my glass... And I stopped to admire the gorgeous head... I left about an inch in the bottle... And set it down.. very clear blonde I would say it SRM of probably at 3 initially... But then some magic... I began the tasting... And when I begin to refill it... It was breathing life back into the head and then ooh it's alive... There's live yeast in the bottom... Of course... So there's your weather weather report SRM of 3 to 4 clear to partly cloudy... I'm trying to score the look of this thing... I mean weiss beers in general are gorgeous to look at.... I got to score this at 5... Smell... Knocked it out of the park... There's so much going on with the fruity esters bread dough banana clove orange lemon a full mouth feel... It's very grounded in a sweetly malty Yeasty fruity kind of way ... It's an American take variation... I mean I'd like to give it a perfect score and all the constituent parts... I couldn't ask for more... Overall I had to knock it down by half a point... Because I never scored a beer so high... I'm definitely revisiting this one... But I need to do a HeffeWeiss deep dive to be sure... of the competition...

Light and slightly cloudy, with a good amount of carbonation. The smell and taste is of bananas and a little malt. A nice, drinkable wheat beer. Another solid offering by New Glarus.

12 oz. bottle pours a slightly hazy yellow with big white frothy head that lasts and laces. Aroma is mostly bananas and cloves, with some wheat bread. Taste is on the sweet side but true to the style. Body is light without too much carbonation. I've never been disappointed in any New Glarus brew. This one is good but not one of the greats.

One of the best American Hefeweizen that I have had. Only lacks the cloudy look that I like. Flavor is all there. Smell and taste of bananas throughout. Easy drinker.

For me it’s a little bitter. However, it is very fresh, crisp and clean. I like most New Glarus brews a lot, but this is not one of my favorites.

Has to be the best american hefeweizen on the market. They tend to be extremely thick and filling and this one does a good job of not doing so while retaining all the classic hefeweizen notes. Delicious

12oz bottle. No dating information found.
Cloudy, pale gold colored body. Big white voluminous head (took four pours into a pint glass to empty the bottle). Leaves just a few strings and spots of lacing.
Aroma is wheat malt and yeast esters (bubblegum, pencil eraser, cloves and banana).
Taste is wheat malt tang and yeasty bubblegum, banana and cloves. Rather sweet overall. Bubblegum in the aftertaste.
Medium mouth feel, and extra foamy in the mouth. Spicy from the yeast. Excellent carbonation.
A sweet, spicy treat, and has the lower ABV% too. So much aroma and flavor, and well balanced. So much like eating a spiced banana bread.

This is a great hefeweizen. Incredibly fluffy and aromatic, it really is a full sensory experience. Certainly one of the better American hefeweizens out there.

THIS IS what a Hefe should be. On lighter density beers color doesnt grab me as a beer quality. Smell lightly less so. It has a perfect but understated aroma. That relatively mild but clear banana/wheat scent. The taste and feel engage the tastebuds as well as these" lighter styles" can. A work of art in brewing. Stouts and IPAs may be more impactful, but this beer is what this style aspires to. OUTSTANDING!
