Notes:
Inspired by Berliner fairies, Dan sourced Wisconsin fresh apples from the Kickapoo Valley. He crushed the 2018 harvest and nurtured a spontaneous fermentation for one year to create this enchanted Berliner Apfel. Sparkling bubbles prance with effervescent notes of green apple and pear. This is a delicate creation to delight the senses. A Brewer’s alchemy of barley and apples magically creates the palest golden bier imaginable to sparkle as sunlight dances.

Pours a slightly murky golden color. 3 finger white, and very frothy head. The head retention is amazing, and there's beautiful lacing on the glass.
The nose hit me as I opened up the bottle. Just a punch to my face of apples. Up close it's a tart, and very funky apple aroma. Quite pleasing.
Taste - Not as wild and funky as I was expecting from the nose. That being said, it's a creamy tasting apple. Slightly sweet, but not too much so. I also get a pear flavor that really adds so much more to this beer.
The body is bubbly. Soft. Creamy.
This is one amazing beer from New Glarus. They just knocked it out of the park here, and if you can try it, I highly recommend it.

12oz brown bottle, media sample from the brewery.
A Berliner with fresh crushed apples, sweet upfront and tart in the finish. Apple flavor goes form skin to flesh back to skin. Light bodied and extremely refreshing. Great balance through out and a new perfect use of fruit in a beer which doesn't surprise me coming form New Glarus.

Another treat from the gift bag.
12 oz bottle into Goose Island Nonic Pint.
Clear bubbly yellow with a thin wispy white head. Lots of effervescent bubbles spiraling to the top.
Aroma of green apple jolly rancher, green apple slushie, green apple skins, and apple jacks. Tart, sweet, ridiculous.
Flavor is golden delicious apple (with the earthy skins and everything, how do they do it), white bread, lightly toasted malt, and sour apple jolly rancher.
Feel is creamy and crisp in that order, with a light starchy coating on the tongue and slight pucker. No alcohol heat. Moderate carbonation.
Overall, a really good semi-sour ale that really amps up the green apple business. Highly recommended if you like sours or apples and definitely recommended if you like both.

12oz bottle, undated but the 2019 release, poured into a 16oz tumbler glass.
The beer pours a bright golden color, honey and straw hues with a cloudy complexion and a firm white foamy head that rises about two fingers with moderate retention and excellent lacing. The aroma is wonderful, light buggy funk, candied apple, a touch of citrus and soft pale grain. The flavors are great, loads of granny smith apple, pleasant tartness, soft pale grains with a lightly floral finish. The mouthfeel is excellent, light body and vibrant with plenty of lively carbonation that's smooth and finishes easily with a moderately tart and crisp bite.
Verdict: A great berliner from New Glarus. Loads of apple that's bright and delicate and more importantly, super refreshing and easy drinking. An excellent fall beer.
