When Hiram Walker built the Lake Erie Railway, he built one track that specifically transported his workers to a place called “Paradise Grove”. Being right on the water and covered with green space, Walker established this area as prime real estate for vacationing. This is now modern-day Kingsville. We crafted this clean and crisp lager to reflect Walker’s intentions, giving our community a taste of paradise.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated XX/XX/2024 (it's smudged) and served slightly chilled. Reviewed from notes taken last summer.
Pours a crystal clear pale straw yellow colour, supporting an inch of puffy, foamy white head that steadily drops off over the next two or three minutes. A tight collar and thin cap live on, with a respectable swath of lace sticking to the glass - looks good so far. A little fruity on the nose, with hints of red apple, white grape, cereal sweetness and grainy malts.
The flavours are alright, but the aftertaste is a problem. I'm getting grainy malts, apple skin, sourdough and a little bit of grassiness towards the tail end. Hints of cereal sweetness dissipate into a neutral aftertaste; a strange metallicity comes through a few seconds after you swallow the sip, and lingers on the taste buds. It's genuinely weird, and not in a good way. Light in body, with average carbonation that lends a crisp bite to this lager's smooth mouthfeel. It's drinkable, but I'd recommend taking quick sips, or pairing it with a meal, so as to minimize the weirdness.
Final Grade: 3.03, a C+. My first sip wasn't anything out of the ordinary, except that I noticed a metallic note in the aftertaste - a strangely persistent one, at that. It's mildly unpleasant and remained an annoyance throughout the course of the glass (edit: I just noticed that another review mentions this, confirming that it's not just me). Even without that flaw, this would still be a below average craft lager, i.e. if you gave me the choice between this and a Moosehead, I'd take the Moosehead. I'll give it another chance if I can find a fresh can, but for the time being I wouldn't recommend Paradise Premium Lager.

At my lady Pamela's place; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. My first beer from the Kingsville, Ontario brewery.

Looks nice in my glass, gold colour with a nice head. The smell/taste has a weird chemical or metal vibe to it. My wife says it has a funny taste. A little off-putting. It doesn’t taste like any lager I’ve ever had.
