1855 represents the year Penn State originated. Initially called "The Pennsylvania Farmers High School". Both Michigan State and Penn State were the first two Land Grant Universities in the United States land . Axemann has dubbed this beer as a "LAND GRANT LAGER".
LOOK: Pours a clear caramel, vanilla color with a tan head that very quickly settles to a thin skin as well as 360 degree glass lace, however the head retention is dismal.
AROMA: Mildly sweet aroma with caramel and vanilla again at the forefront.
TASTE: The vanilla and caramel character delivers a little bit of a tart and drying hop bite.
Easy drinking lager that delivers more flavor than typical Lager, Pilsners do.
