Poured into an tulip glass. Had a 1 finger head that all but disappeared 30 seconds after pouring. A few small trails of carbonation rose form the bottom. Pour was slightly hazy, and the color was a dark amber copper. Aroma was fruity, finished off with a raisiny figgy aroma with a bit of spice. Flavor started off slightly yeasty, a tad of alcohol, and then finished as a dry sweetness, akin to some ciders I've had. Coated fairly well, almost a tad too syrupy though. Overall a reasonable beer. Fairly appropriate for a colder autumn evening.

Autumnal dead leaf brown color. Arrived at my table with a thin collar that didn't last long.
Aroma is a lil' spice and a lotta fruit. Tastes like butternut squash with a heap 'o sugar mixed in. Sweeter and fruitier than a traditional saison it lacks the refreshing dryness.

In an imperial pint glass the beer was a hazy orange color with a small white head.
Sweet malt aroma. Clearly the squash was there. A little bit of spice.
The squash dominated the taste. I felt like I was drinking a just-picked squash. A little fruity. Tiny hint of nutmeg and/or cinnamon.
This was very smooth. Enough of a difference from a pumpkin beer that this was a good change of pace.

Portsmouth Saison D' Automne review
Got this bottle on a recent stop by Portsmouth Brewery. 22oz bottle.
A: A very nice pumpkin colored orange perfectly filtered clear with a small 1/2 inch white head that fades quickly to tiny bubbles atop the brew. Good. 4.0
S: A get some nice malty autumn scents with a faint hint of tartness quickly following. Subdued is a mild cherry blended with some peach and a faint nuttiness on the back. Decent. 3.5
T: I get a very malty charge of flavor upfront which is quickly overthrown by a marly breadiness. Biscuit malt possibly. A very mild hidden tartness blends from the front to the back of the palate. A mild fruitiness on the backend. Decent. 3.5
M: Light bodied with a great carbonation. A very clean malty finish. Decent. 3.5
O: All in all, this beer is descent. It's not bringing anything new to the table for the Saision style, but it is staying true to a very American Style Saison with no overpowering flavors. A very malt forward brew.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery at a nice full day trip of Maine and new Hampshire. Poured into a smuttynose tulip. This beer is 28 IBU and is their yearly saison by lightening the body and adding 90lbs of shredded Butternut squash into the mash.
