Inspired by the Mexican tradition of Noche Buena, this dark version of our Mexican lager presents notes of toast, caramel, and subtle corn from the corn grits cereal mash. Lighter than the bock styles that are typically consumed on Christmas Eve, it makes this beer ultra approachable and justifies having more than one.

Amber brown body with a minimal tan head. Sweet malt nose, slight toasted caramel with mild yeast. Taste has corn and yeast tones to meet sweet malt, slight dry earth, kind of flat overall but not bad. Feel is malty yet mild with the yeast in a medium-light body, crisp and gets deeper as it warms.

16oz can served in a footed pilsner glass. Dated 11/30/22. Got it from @FBarber.
Pours a dark amber, clear, with a big head that collapses to a thin skin that leaves heavy lacing up the side of the glass. Smell is rich funky bread, a little bit of honey or honeysuckle, maybe a hint of nuttiness, slight earthiness.
Taste is similar, but a bit dryer than the aroma suggested. Funky yeast is a bit stronger, definitely earthy. Sweetness is grainier, doesn't have much of the honey hint that I got from the smell, either.
Mouthfeel is moderately light. Overall, nice, satisfying lager.

Canned 11/30/22; drank 12/14/22 @ the Yarchives.
See-through dull orange rust appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big eggshell head; frothy lace.
Wheat bread notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Dry wheat bread flavors.
One note, and not super pleasant. To me, this is a rare misfire from Goldfinger.

16oz can "FELIZ NAVIDAD CANNED ON 11/30/22"
Poured into a tall, stemmed pilsner glass and displays a clear, amber body under a proud 2" head of off-white bubbles and leaves the glass clean behind.
Aromas and flavors are classic corn malt with a hint of toast.
Mouthfeel is medium, slick, and a clean, almost wet, finish.
Overall, a really nice dark lager. Perfect with food.

Pours a crystal clear chestnut brown color. Thin sudsy off-white head forms on the beer, but doesnt show much retention; dissolving quickly leaving no residual head. Aroma has notes of lightly toasted corn tortilla, lightly toasted warm bread, a just a hint of fruitiness.
Taste follows the nose with notes of toasted white bread and toasted corn tortillas. There is a slight caramel-like sweetness to the profile with just a hint of earthy hops on the back end. Feel is light, crisp, easy drinking and smooth.
Overall its a lovely lager from Goldfinger. It did not leave me as impressed as the regular Mexican lager, but it was still a great beer that I will undoubtedly drink again.

This is the dark version of Goldfinger's Chela Chido Mexican lager. For a darker beer this one has a pretty soft feel. Very smooth with a nice caramel taste and a touch of corn tortilla flavor to it also.
