16 oz can poured a Becher glass. Thanks to FBarber for sending this gem in NBS BIF #17.
Light gold in hue with a most subtle opacity. Good cap develops, then settles into a solid film. Scattered clumps of lacing.
Herbal and floral in the nose right off the bat. Mild citrus notes, biscuity malt, and mineral water hints.
Taste is smooth yet a little bitey, but in a good way. Starts off with a dry, slightly citrusy and grassy bitter note that hints toward green but then curves back to slightly peppery. Malt presents as cereal with hints of honey sweetness. But again, this is active in the mouth in a way that constantly engages the olfactory and thusly building the flavor.
Light feel, crisp, slightly dry.
Wow.

Brassy gold tone with a slight haze, ample foam and sticky irregular patches of lacing to one side.

Aromas of crackery malt and yeast-driven olfactory intangibles that remind me of a bank or library. Fresh printed books or cash, maybe.

A subtle blend of pleasant flavors. Earthy hops, a hint of grassy green hop resins. Light cracker and cereal grain. Crisp and clean, some perceptible astringency. Easy drinking, a nice historical recreation. Keep these coming.

Thanks to Bill for this one!

Pours yellow hued pale; hazy but see through, sudsy and white head.

Nose is doughy bread, touch of honey brightness, pleasant and aromatic herbal note.

Taste is noticeably hoppy; it is balanced nicely by some light malt presence but hops are definitely front and center; grassy, earthy, and slightly peppery in nature.

The body is light but the hops make this a bigger feeling beer on the tongue; nice bitterness on the finish; semi dry, the lingering hop presence sort of messes with drinkability for me on this one.

I feel slightly stupid rating this at Czech pale lager nearly a 4.75, but it is seriously well earned by Goldfinger. This is by far the best lager they have produced. Those Sugar Creek malts are such a difference maker in this beer & not to mention that with Goldfinger using the triple decoction brewing method for this beer it was really the only way to do this beer with these special malts. Bravo Goldfinger, your brew crew continue to make absolutely stunning old world lagers. Might even be Brewing some of the the best lagers in the USA.

Released 4/13/23; drank 4/25/23 @ the Yarchives.

Mostly see-through pale orange/yellow appearance.

A rough pour yielded a huge off-white head; strong tree-rung lace.

Cereal grain, mild pine & faint lemon notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Honeyed cereal grain, mild pine & faint lemon flavors.

For a sub-4% beer, this is very flavorful. I'd have another!
