60 Days In Hell, our new lager bier hell, is brewed with 100% German grown raw materials, fermented ice cold, matured at freezing temperatures for 45+ days, and filtered for brilliant clarity. It was hopped in the kettle with Hallertau Tradition and Tettnanger hops to give a light spicy note with a hint of floral quality. A touch of biscuit character, and just a quick hit of sweetness from the decocted Pilsner malt, make this beer EXTREMELY crushable and clean. Helles is truly one of the great beer styles of the world. An exercise in simplicity and nuance, but also complex and HIGHLY enjoyable, all at the same time. This is the kind of beer I would sell my soul for… Or maybe sold my soul for…

Figured it had been awhile since I’d been to Windmill Farms so I stopped by for a sandwich and grabbed four beers as well. Online description I found read “60 Days In Hell, our new lager bier hell, is brewed with 100% German grown raw materials, fermented ice cold, matured at freezing temperatures for 45+ days, and filtered for brilliant clarity. Poured a medium yellow clear color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky-to-frothy white head. Slow moving bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Excellent semi-layered lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25)

Smelled corn, Corn Pops cereal, honey, Corn Flakes, grass and spoiled fruit. Much better out of the can. (Smell - 3.75)

Taste followed the nose for the most part. In order got corn, Corn Pops cereal, honey, grass, chalk and earthy pilsner malt. (Taste - 3.75)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, dry finish. (Feel - 4.00)

This was a very good Helles Lager. (Overall - 3.75)

So you’re not feeling Fellini - nor opening a page of Burges. 60 Days In Hell is more Hemingway and John Wayne - I’m talking more so straight up adventure. There’s nothing to decipher, and it’s not wrapped up with a pretty bow. Boom. A clean and crisp Lager about as beautiful as Gretzky’s last assist.

Let’s go.
