This small farmhouse ale relies on a flavorful malt backbone meeting highly expressive yeast. Sambre is clean and spicy and a beer meant to be enjoyed with food and amongst long evenings friends throughout the summer months.

beautiful summer beer, flavorful and even memorable, crazy without more rustic or wild yeast, this is clean as these go, but the grain is right, there is some deep attention to detail and professional level execution happening, and the overall drinkability is off the charts for a yeast driven beer, i was real impressed with this one, spot on for a hot summer day out here on their patio! the color on this is crazy pale, lighter even than their pils in terms of shade, the lightest straw yellow, unfiltered probably but clear enough to still be glowing, more than an inch of wispy white head on top, pure as the driven snow, and tons of frantic carbonation. the nose here is estery and earthy, subtle peppery rye or something to me, a little dry crackery pils type malt, slightly floral hops, grassy and straw-like, subtle tea, lemon rind, and honeysuckle, really a high summer thing, light but interesting, i love that. the flavor brings everything the aroma does, spicy yeast and spicy hops both, dry as a bone but not without some intrigue on the grain side, some wheat and rye could be in the mix with the simple pils base, minerals abound. hints of pear and white wine, not way different from their rain harvester farmhouse on the ferment, but more delicate here and with the slightest finishing funkiness. clean on the swallow, very excited mouthfeel, and real easy down. beer for drinking, but also sneakily complex, i was really pumped on this. these guys are making some really solid beers without much fanfare, check them out when you see their stuff or cruise through mcminnville!
