Bull N Bear Brewery

Pint on draught at the brewery. It's darker in color than the Saisons with which I'm familiar. It's more of a deep orange color with a modest, ecru-colored head and lacing. I may revise this assessment when I pour from a can. The nose is subdued. It's malty with the telltale smells of Belgian spice. Its taste is unique. It's more malt-forward than the typical Saison I've had. But it also has all the expected flavors: banana, lemon, green apple, clove, and coriander. As the glass warms there is additional earthy, tobacco notes. It's very well balanced. It's moderately bodied with appropriate carbonation and drinks very easily at 6% ABV. Overall, Tranche is a mellow but effective Saison I may revisit this review when I drink it from a can.
