Pint pour on draught at the brewery. It is a muddy magenta color with a modest, creamy ecru-colored head that dissipated quickly leaving a film of lacing. It has a fragrant nose featuring musky red fruit, sweet malt, and funky yeast. I'm impressed with the taste: red grape, tart cherry, and hints of caramel and oak. There is a great balance of sweet and sour. The yeast is modestly funky and there is a touch of acidity throughout. It is super easy to drink. It is medium-bodied and carbonated, dry, and the 6% ABV poses no obstacle to a second pour. Overall, this is a very good local rendition of a style that more brewers should attempt. Kudos and style points to Bull N Bear for brewing this excellent ale. I hope that others like it as much as I do. And I have to say that the name is inspired.
