Gifted to me by @OzzyLizard after he hauled it back from Germany
Might be the first beer like this I’ve had, and it was better than I expected.
The pour was reminiscent of a white wine, with just a bit of carbonation. Similar color and quite transparent.
The taste leads with the grape musk, when cold, but when it warms a little the beer comes into play - not strong, but still present. Light, very light biscuits and cereal. The white wine flavor never goes away.
The feel is light and not quite crisp.
OA, I could see drinking a few of these on a hot summer day, no problem. Almost refreshing.

Weyermann 76 Barley & Wein – from the experimental brewery at Weyermann Braumanufaktur. Single bottle purchased from their gift shop, 25/06/24, 2.80€. Reviewed 10/08/24 (Review 3334). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Stamped on the rear label “30.01.2025”. In reefer at store. Stored at 34 degrees at home. Served at 54.6 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 58.8 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Pale Straw (SRM 2), clear.
Body – Straw (SRM 3), clear. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Large (Maximum 4.3 cm, aggressive center pour), white, high density, initially fizzy, average retention, leaving an undulating 0.5 – 0.9 cm crown and partial cap.
Lacing –
Aroma – 3.5 – Odd combination of weak toasted barley with a touch of grape must. No yeast, no hops, no alcohol (8 % ABV, according to the label).
Flavor – 4 – Follows the nose. No yeast, no hops, no alcohol. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Faint gastric warming.
Palate – 4 – Medium; almost creamy; soft carbonation.
Final Impression and summation: 4 Despite the initial oddness of the Rieslingmust/toasted barley aroma and taste, as it warms it becomes quite tasty, with the Riesling becoming dominant.
