At the brewery, served i. Appropriate glassware. Nice clear copper red orange color, a thin froth head that subsides quickly. Nose is pretty one-note and basic — crystal malt and candy — but not bad. Taste is kind of like the nose, but a little more muddled, with pure sweet caramel on the front and then something a little earthy on the end…but I don’t get anything distinct, and definitely no dark fruits that make the best sunbelt so good…it’s just kind of muddled in an earthy way. Little liveliness in the mouthful, but not much, which is appropriate. It’s sticky without being too heavy, but kind of middling. All in all, it’s a decent attempt, and it’s nice to have the option…not a lot of dubbels on tap around the twin cities.

Poured up at the local brew house - review is from notes
This was a decent dubbel - now I've never been to Belgium, even though I desperately want to, but I feel like this is the best interpretation of the style I could ask for in a place like Chanhassen - not knocking Chan, either, it's just no Belgium, is it?

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
