This is a heavy-duty West Coast style IPA. Big piney and floral presence and good and bitter. A refreshing change of pace from all the NEIPAs out there!!! Poured from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass, this beer featured a big foamy white head, thick bands of lacing, good head retention and a hazy dark gold color. Aroma and taste were predominantly piney, bitter with a floral aspect from the Simcoe hops. There was a little grapefruit here as well. Mouthfeel was bitter but also soft for an IPA. Not as pillowy as "Blind Pig" but still less crisp than the standard West Coast IPA. Mad for very pleasant sipping. Big aroma and flavor fora a 6% .abv beer. This one is very good!!!

(16 oz can by Precarious Beer Project, no dates/codes; gifted a cold single... poured into a fat tulip)
L: polished-clear(!), brassy-colored liquid; head forms, but immediately crumbles away, not even leaving a collar, let alone lace
S: 'warm', pineapple-kissed, orange taffy... lightly catty on the fringes as it goes, while the bottom drops out, leaving no foundation for that cat to land on all fours
T: spicy, pointed dank, green, skunk grass; herbal-edged bitterness slicing down the middle in the aftertaste, citrus champagne around the edges... pine perfume (tonic, medicinal) back tone; aggressive herbal bite full front and center, drowning everything else out by midpoint; one note
F: relatively bone dry, cut hard... tongue feels sanded flat, top palate lit by a tiny flame... the sharp cuts make sense where yeast character or hop layering is complex, filling out the screen, but its monochrome flavors make its flat spirit all the more dull and apparent
O: auspicious start flavor-wise, but finding myself craving a palate-washing, more flavor-dynamic chaser about halfway through... its crystal clarity may have been an indication, hmm; don't strip away the real, bubs! (1803)
