Decent marzen. Easy drinking. A little sweet. Light on the palate. On tap at City Beer. Decent transition to craft beer, huggable for them folk. Light brown.

Pours a crystal-clear, intense honey-copper hue topped with multiple fingers of fluffy, off-white foam; good head retention leaves a finger of choppy cap, large, frothy collar, and a comprehensive coating of thin, sudsy lacing almost entirely covering the walls of the glass.

Aroma offers a honey overtone enmeshed in brown toast subtext, yielding an air of floral perfume hovering through nutty malts as hints of smoked toffee settle over the back end.

Taste shows black bread upfront, a honey undercurrent more subtle as increasingly pertinent threads of minerality coast over the mid-palate into notes of bread crust and a hint of smoke on the back end of the profile.

Mouthfeel features a medium-light body and a robust spritz of moderate-full carbonation before easing to a pseudo-stickiness over the mid-palate and a slight drying through the back end, leaving a soft snap on the finish.

A touch odd, as honey overindulges a sweeter malt aspect that distracts from the cleaner lager profile; inconsistent yet tolerable.
