Pilsner malt and flaked corn, not to be confused with corn flakes.. This crispy crusher will go down smooth and fast. Golden, clear and refreshing - it’s a perfect lager for cutting the grass, going to a baseball game or sitting on the dock. Crack one, lean back and enjoy. Holler for a Hauler.

I bought a can at the LCBO in Ontario Canada 473ml at 4.8%.
Poured it into glass with a 1 finger head and a white golden color leaving a lace as you drink it.
Smooth light taste of Malts and bread.
Overall an ok average lager beer to drink .
Cheers

Plain Jane stuff. Crystal clear, very pale white gold colour. Lots of carbonation action, but utterly headless. Not a wisp of anything. Quite minimalist in appearance, kind of a weird stark beauty. Surpirsing ample alcohol on the nose which pretty much buries whatever else might be there. Malty to taste, a hint of grassy hops. Sweet to start, a slightly dry finish, carbonation tickles. Simple, drinkable, won't challenge you in any way.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Jul 13 2022 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a relatively clear pale straw yellow colour, with half a finger of tight, foamy white head situated atop. It fizzles within a minute or two, reduced to a thin, sudsy collar and filmy cap - looks fairly plain to me, and the aroma is along the same lines. I'm getting grainy sweetness and lightly corny cereals, with just a hint of hay and earthiness. Clean and wholesome.

This is a decent-tasting adjunct lager - bready and biscuity pale malt flavours at the forefront, with grainy, corny sweetness dominating by mid-sip (think Corn Pops). I might be imagining a hint of earthiness at the back end, then it's corn through the finish and into the aftertaste. Light in body, moderately carbonated, with a crisp, tongue-scrubbing quality about the mouthfeel. Refreshing and sessionable, but nothing worth writing home about.

Final Grade: 3.36, a B-. Hauler Lager is unobjectionable at best. Technically an adjunct lager, but the use of flaked corn doesn't require it to be relegated to that style - indeed, the pilsner malts do a decent job of sprucing up the flavour profile - if only there were something more going on in the hop department. Passable, and I wouldn't turn it down or discourage others from giving it a try.

I used to always be someone who thought ‘why ever get beer that isn’t complex?’

Then I worked manual jobs and would come home, and the only thing you really want is a nice crisp beer, not a malt bomb. Though I do love my malts.

Regardless, my can recently brewed only says it contains barley. Typically Canadian laws mean you have to label adjunct ingredients, and the website says corn is added, and it certainly tastes like it. Not sure what’s going on with that.

But the beer is an excellent summer brew. I can’t see myself ever cracking one open if it’s not a hot sunny day or a late afternoon in the backyard after a hard days work. The sweet malt and corn is evident, the name implies lots of hallertau hops and that is also evident, albeit muted, in the taste profile. It’s a crisp, easy drinking beer. Exactly as advertised

Bought 4 cans from the brewery - Pours a lightly hazed pale straw color with a sturdy 2 finger white cap...aromas of fresh bread, gritsted maize and grassy hop notes ... well rounded medium body smooth clean character ... flavor is malt forward with enough hopping to balance...crisp, clean finish with a biscuit bite at the end...decent quaffer for a hot day
