Thanks to FBarber, record in NBS BIF #17
Pours a deep brownish amber. When held up to the light, a warm orange tinge comes through the translucent liquid as well. An abundant sandy head confidently builds up to the rim necessitating a slow down of the pour. Retention is solid. Lacing is layered and plentiful.
The nose is a smooth ride of caramel malts, brown bread, some fruity notes, and a drying hint from what I think is the hops. As I go a bit further, and maybe this is due to rice being listed as an ingredient, I catch what I perceive as the scent that's given off by brown rice when you rinse it.
Flavor also is a pleasant meandering of balanced grain, malt and a gentle touch of hops. Here I did not pick up any further nuances from the rice.
Mouthfeel is smooth, lightly carbonated, and finishes a tad dry.
Overall, a pretty nice time.

I've had all Funkytown beers listed on BA. The Stroll is not the most exciting. But it, too, indicates brewing talent... particularly to the likes of malt-heads like me.
The Stroll opens with sassy Looks, but loses its foam too fast. Smells are mostly malt; but even malt-heads like me like a little spice in the back of our noses. Tastes are balanced to me, but the American palate will favor more hops. Feel also is slightly above average, perhaps because rice (while having virtues) is not as full of Feel as an all-barley bill.
I just picked up a 4-pack from Pilot Project, so I will revise the above review with the second can. But I should explain why I give Huge Overall Hugs to The Stroll.
First, Stroll pays homage to one of jazz' great female pioneers; and preserving the shoulders of those we stand on should not be lost and if brewers can make our memories better, they should.
Second, Stroll is a collaboration of eight brewers. The previous record I'm aware of was three. Collaborations are like social networking: if the intent is good, it eventually leads somewhere good... even without us being sure where.
Third, I think Pilot Project is on to a business model that could take off. PP captures the aspirations of home brewers and gives them a chance to be commercially viable. Funkytown is like a great cook I've known who couldn't muster the skills to open a restaurant so appreciaters never appreciated this cook. PP provides Funkytown the chance to be more widely appreciated. I'm glad PP opened up a shop in the Second City of Brewing (Milwaukee.) Show them up for beating the Cubs.
3/23/23 Had a second can. Edited and embellished the above review. Ready to enjoy the remaining 2 cans. Cheers, Bros !

Undated can; drank 3/10/23 @ the Yarchives.
See-through brown/orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big tan head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace remained.
Copper, caramel & soft wheat notes in the nose.
Creamy, medium mouthfeel.
Acorn, banana & mild dry rice flavors; balanced & drinkable.
Not bad!
