So crisp and so clean, this Italian-style Pilsner is dry-hopped with loads of Hallertau Mittelfrüh and Saphir hops and then lagered for over 5 weeks. The result is a hoppy pilsner that is pale gold in colour with a fluffy white head and grassy, herbal hop aromas. With a creamy mouthfeel showcasing sweet cereal malt character and notes of honey this tasty pilsner is in perfect balance with the earthy and floral hop bitterness that lingers on the finish. We took our time to make this Fine Italian Pilsner, so we hope that you’ll take your time to kick back and enjoy the finer things in life. Cin cin!

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 568mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. Canned April 14/25. My 7th beer from the Guelph, Ontario brewery, and 6th for 2025. Adamantly appreciated by Sundae the cat...

Poured a 473ml can into pint glass. A two finger white head on a very slightly hazy pale gold. The head diminishes to a layer that sticks around. Plenty of patchy lacing.
Grassy smells.
Malt forward. clean. A very mild hop finish.
Medium body and carbonation.
A fine Italian style Pilsner. True to the style.

473ml can served cold into a pint glass. Canned May 30, 2023. LCBO purchase for $3.75 CDN.
Appearance - Pale golden colored brew with a finger plus of frothy white head. Good clarity with a slight haziness. Fair amount of visible bubbles in the glass too and the head retention is very good.
Smell - Light floral notes mostly with some grassy aspects and a slight buttery cracker characteristic behind all that.
Taste - Lightly ctrusy with orange and lemon being the front runners. Genereal light brassiness behind it, and a minor amount of grainy, but the fruity and grassy elements prevail.
Mouthfeel - Medium-light bodied bodes well for a 5.5% ABV pilsner with plenty of crisp carbonation as well. Plenty of carbonation for a bit of a fizzy finish.
Overall - These Italian style pilsners, all seem to do the same thing. More focus on fruit, very light on it's feet belying it's not insignificant ABV and very crisp and clean carbonation. Wellington does it very and the result is the success seen here. Very much worth a try.

473 mL can from the LCBO, one of six brews in their Bootique mixer. Packaged Sep 6 2021 and served slightly chilled.
Pours foggy and effervescent, its pale yellow-hued body topped with one finger of lumpy, soapy white head that settles off within the next few minutes. A generous amount of messy lace is splattered about in the process, which also leaves behind a frothy collar and thin cap of suds - looks good in the glass. Smells a bit fruity/zesty on the nose, with hints of mandarin orange, as well as some perfume-like floral noble hop notes; clean, subtle graininess, with a hint of something berry-like.
An immaculately clean-tasting pilsner brightened up by the noble dry hopping - I'm getting juicy orange for sure, with lesser hints of lemon peel stacked atop a grainy pale malt backbone. Plenty of grassy, floral hops come through on the back end, which is spicy with lingering hints of citrus peel and berries dissipating into the aftertaste. Light in body, with assertive carbonation that prickles the palate enthusiastically with each sip; very crisp, quite thirst-quenching, and just a delight to consume in general.
Final Grade: 3.99, a very high B+. Wellington is not a brewery that I immediately associate with great pale lagers, but every once in a while they'll ship out a real solid one, like their Fine Italian Pilsner. This is a fantastic lager with potentially wide appeal - any fan of pale lagers (German or otherwise) will most likely enjoy it, while the dry hopping is sure to draw in more than a few hopheads. Better than their also solid Helles Lager (also included in this pack), and I hope to see this return as a single in the near future.
