This once forgotten style of beer originated in Grodzisk, Poland in or before the 1600's before being lost to obscurity in the early 1900's. Made from 100% oak smoked wheat malt and aggressively hopped with Saaz hops. Once known as Polish Champagne this unique style is smokey, crisp, and floral.
Pronounced "Pee-Voh" (Polish for "beer") "Grow-Jees-K'ya" (Grodzik being the town the beer originated from)

I’ve limited experience with this style, but it hits all that I expect from the description and have enjoyed in other versions.
Yea, it’s a light beer, almost watery, but the smoke adds an interesting depth… if you like smoke in your beer. Even then, the light nature of the beer means the smoke must be light as well, and the mix dyes add a metallic edge to the beer - but it’s something I’ve noted in other Grodziskies.
Light grain with a dry grass note before the smoke adds its bitterness. Pretty dry, more than slightly bitter, fairly smoky in a relative sense, and entirely refreshing to me.
