Having the inspiration from our original golden sour, Erratic Intentions, that beer was handed a red wine barrel to sit in for an entire year. Afterwards, I had contacted our friends over at Emery’s Farm down the road for a heavy abundance of blueberries. With our own particular process to get that desired flavor, we then moved this to sit in bottles for eight months. Our end result has been named Barrens or Bogs.

Pours a vaguely murky, magenta purple hue sporting an ample, hissing effervescence and capped with two fingers of bone-white foam; decent head retention leaves a slight layer of sudsy cap, slim collar, and little-no lacing holding to the walls of the glass with any longevity.
Aroma shows hints of red wine upfront as a subtle oakiness underscores notes of rose water, peaking with fresh blueberry juice inherent beneath brushes of clean funk.
Taste brings sweet blueberry juice underlying a profile laden with notes of siloed grain, a milky funk punch, and earthy edges, with blackberry seeds building to blueberry pith accentuation over time.
Mouthfeel presents a slick, light body and moderate-low carbonation, espousing a refined, tannic grit into a gentle spritz past the mid-palate while moderate-high acidity pangs mark the back end.
Nuanced sweetness contrasts a natural twang in a gentle intermingling of richer blueberry and wine-tinged funk; a subtle and quaffable wile ale.
