Refreshingly light bodied with a crisp and dry finish. Subtle malt sweetness is balanced with a low, noble hop character to round out the beer. Overall, this beer comes across as clean, crisp and well balanced.

Pours a golden beer color. Two fingers of head on the pour that lasts a couple minutes at most. Keeps some lacing. Initial sip i got was light tasting beer with a hint of sweetness. It's alright. I bought 12 of these beers alongside a bunch of others from the brewery in Collingwood. Goes to a good cause and very drinkable. Next order I would probably get another 6 pack. Can buy from their Side Launch Brewery website.

Overall, there are better beers out there for sure if your talking just taste but the price is average and a small portion goes towards cancer research so that deserves a 6 pack purchase from me.
I have to rate it on my enjoyment of the beer itself and that is only a 3/5. Still a buy! Anything 3.0 or higher I would buy again at some point. If this beer was a little bit more bready and grainy I think it would be better, but that's what I like. Maybe you prefer beers lighter and sweeter. 11IBU is accurate. There's not much hoppy or bitterness at all, and that can be a plus for some people. Catch you guys next time.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Dec 13 2021 and served barely chilled.

Pours a bright, sunny golden-yellow colour, generating more than an inch of soapy, foamy white head that seeps away within two or three minutes' time. It leaves behind multiple stringy strands of lace, in addition to a tight collar and filmy cap - looks fine to me. Very plain on the nose, with grain husks, cereal sweetness and a hint of grassy hay.

It's a decent pale lager - nothing out of the ordinary, or especially remarkable to report here. Crisp and clean to a fault. Grainy pale malts at the forefront, with light breadiness, grassy hops and lemon zest towards the finish; briefly malty-sweet into the aftertaste. Light in body, with assertive carbonation that remains prickly and reactive well into the course of the glass, contributing to its pleasant mouthfeel. It's very easy to toss back, but like many beers of this type, it's totally forgettable.

Final Grade: 3.51, a B grade. Shake Lager ain't half bad. I mean, sure, it's not the most exciting beer you'll ever drink, and in all honesty this is not my preferred "kind" of pale lager (give me a Czech or German pils any day). But it's still an OK lager that helps support a worthy cause, so why not give it a shot anyhow? Fans of stuff like Moosehead or Muskoka Craft Lager will likely appreciate this one.
