Buchanan County is similar to Hefeweizen, but with a little kick from the use of Rye Malt instead of Wheat.

Poured cold from a 16-ounce can into a clear Solo cup. Quite pretty in the cup: turbid, almost cloudy, dark reddish-orange in color, with a dense long-lastimg white head. This seems to be spot-on for the style, with some sourness and a hint of peppery spice from the rye malt. Medium to light bodied, with absolutely huge flavors of banana and clove and unmistakable umami notes on the crisp finish. The rye character really starts to shine as the beer warms toward cellar temperature. A gem of a beer from this excellent brewery, highly recommended.
