I had this beer on-tap in a tulip at the Deschutes brewpub in Bend.
Appearance: black with no light coming through. Thin layer of creamy tan foam head. Quite good indeed!
Smell: toffee and chocolate with a little hint of bitterness. Quite smooth for its strength. Enticing!
Taste: toffee sweetness with a big roasty character. I'm not sure if this is wood aged but I might guess it is a little; there are definite vanilla notes here. A light alcohol fruitiness and a pretty strong roasty bitterness finish it out. Wonderful.
Mouthfeel: big body with a good carbonation and awesome creaminess. Great.
Overall: a great tasting beer. Definitely a sipper, not a quaffer. I'd definitely have this again.

Beautiful Imperial Porter. Nose of delicate chocolate truffles and dark fruit. Taste is a complex malty profile, not overly bitter, with hints of licorice root. Finish leaves me wanting more (in a good way). This is spectacular. Probably very limited.
