Nitro pint from draft at the Portland Public House. Hesitant to order this based on the reviews as I wanted the original version but this is pretty solid. A bit thin and too bitter as others have mentioned but it’s a proper stout. Super roasty, a bit charred, plenty of chocolate and coffee. Tasty stuff.

On tap(nitro). Creamy tan head. Dark brown, nearing black color.
Smooth, slight roast, nice chocolate, caramel. Easy drinking, flavorful stout. Definitely enjoyed the nitro version of this.

On-tap in Nampa ID and served in a snifter. Beautiful black pour is opaque and the glass is capped with that perfect nitro creamy khaki head.
Pretty big nose of roasted black malt bitterness and cocoa...big impressions of coffee...chocolate pops in here and there...charred and bitter on the palate...creamy smooth with a bitter dry finish. Nice.
But super charred and bitter? Nitro does mute the flavor and waters down the mouthfeel in this case; instead of creamy smooth body it comes off slightly watery.

4oz pour at the brewery.
Pours black with a creamy nitro head and nitrogenation (can't call it carbonation). Smell is roasted grains and maybe a little coffee.
Taste is roasty, grainy, coffee bitterness.
Mouthfeel is light and smooth, dry and clean. Overall, this is quite nice. I like Obsidian normally, and nitro seems to treat it well.

Tastes like a latte that wasn’t brewed right. It looks better than it tastes, but it’s better than a Guinness. I’ll drink this, but disappointed there was no discount during happy hour.
