Summer has its own rules. As luck would have it, it also has it's own beer. This clever golden-hued ale pours remarkably crisp and clean. A distinctive malt body complements a refreshing hop profile led by a heady dose of bold Amarillo hops. Enjoy.

The clear dark reddish amber liquid pours out into a Duvel glass with a 1/2” off white head that recedes slowly but visibly leaving a ring and nice pattern of lacing on the sides of the glass. Sipping creates lots of small patches and legs of lacing, a few of which slide back down to the liquid. By mid-way through the beer there’s almost no foam left on the surface but there is still lots of lacing clinging to the sides of the glass.
The aromas include lots of biscuity malt with a bit of lemon in the background. There’s also some spicy, almost peppery character back in there as well.
Much as expected from the nose there’s the biscuity malt which brings with it some sweetness. There’s also some lemony bitterness as well as some spicy, almost peppery grassiness.
The mouthfeel is on the light side of medium bodied and fairly smooth with only a slight prickly sensation from the very light carbonation. The finish begins as the sweet biscuity character begins to fade, allowing some lemony bitterness to show. By the medium length ending there’s a bit of spicy grassiness in the back of the palate.
This beer is fairly enjoyable and I’d be happy to have a few more as a summer refresher. It’s light in flavor, gentle in carbonation, and has a slightly dry, slightly bitter ending that invites another sip. This beer would be a good one to have on offer in a cooler at an outdoor summer party. While not particularly challenging it is easy going and enjoyable.

Clear, golden color. Medium-sized, white head. Malt, grass, and citrus in the aroma. Malty taste with strong hoppy bitterness. A decent summer offering.

12oz bottle fill date June 6, 2021 into a 16oz pint glass.
L: Pours a yeast hazed amber with good fine carbonation and a frothy 2" white head that recedes to thick skin. Random sticky lacing, light yeasty sediment.
S: Malts, toasted grains, sweet hops, caramel, tart fruits, lightly bready.
T: Follows the smell/nose along with caramelized malts, pear, yeast, citrus rind and cedar resin. The rind and resin create a very pleasant bitterness. It is moderately fruity.
F: Crisp, clean light bodied mouthfeel with a soft med-fast finish. Very well balanced with a whisp of dryness.
O: There is a Germanic approach to this Golden Ale. Hop and malt values are equal and share the lode in this delicious and EZ drinking beer. It is very refreshing and is excellent in it's style.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
L - Pours a light hazy golden amber color with about a half-finger of head that leaves a good lacing.
S - Cereal grain, honey, citrus rind, bready malt, floral, slightly hoppy and grassy.
T - Follows the nose with bitter-forward citrus rind, toasted biscuit, honey, caramel, creamed corn, finishes with a slightly bitter hoppy presence, similar to a German beer of balanced bittersweet.
F - Light-to-medium bodied, moderate carbonation but not too prickly, very drinkable and fitting for the style and description, finishes on the wetter side but balanced and refreshing.
O - Another nice special-release offering from one of my favorite breweries. For a summer/blonde beer, this is more hoppy than sweet but not overpowering and a very sessionable beer that I could knock a few back on summer nights, so a fitting name as well.

Small head that stays well developed, nice amber gold color. Smells hoppy, leaning heavily towards tropical with mango and pineapple notes. In the mouth, those tropical citrus flavors are up front- mango, orange peel, pineapple. There’s a noticeable acidity, just a bit of malt, and a dash of fresh pine pitch bitterness that lingers.
Feel is on the wet side, but well balanced by the carbonation.
Damn, this is a good beer. Like, really pretty good. The tropical sweetness is nicely balanced by the bitter finish, and the feel is spot on. I’ll be looking forward to this next summer.
