Uphill by green pastures, and soft bleating goats, where tractors rumble by with a farmer's wave, on their slow journey to a farmhouse near.
Process & tasting notes: A Farmhouse Near is a bière de coupage of fresh saison hopped with Nelson Sauvin, and one 16-month aged barrel of saison with French Strisselspalt hops.
This blend of pale-straw saison pours with a lively carbonation and aroma of fragrant black pepper. On the palate, A Farmhouse Near displays notes of gooseberry and Bosch pear, with a light brush of acidity and oak that finishes with a succinct, cleansing bitterness.
A Farmhouse Near touches on much of what excites us about saison – quenching refreshment, complex bright flavours, lively carbonation, and the promise that it will continue to develop for years when cellared upright, in a cool, dark space, at consistent temperatures between 0-16c.
Serving suggestions: We recommend rousing the yeast and serving in our tumbler glass.
