A 32 ounce crowler from Beer Drop. Just delivered yesterday.
Given that Shut hasn't had a rating on UnTappd for over two months, it's a fair guess that explains why this crowler seems it was the very end of the last keg. In brief, flat with way too few protein swirls. Average tastes, too.

But two friends over for dinner already had two holiday ales and we sat down to dinner and Shut The Barn Door was handy at the table. Cleansed the palate for more food and, then, dessert. As a saison, this crowler did its job.

This review should not be taken as criticism. It requires tremendous innate skill for a two-year old micro to produce Belgians that are any better than average among their like-inspired. I've also noticed that Colorado and Mile-High brewers have more difficulty cultivating Belgian yeasts, which is the key to this tradition.

For my micro-review, it is short. Red Swing's website is very basic. Their motivations are common to the brewing Paradise along The Front Range. I wish Red Swing well and hope to try them again in a few years when they have matured into the Belgian tradition. A Sante' !
