Picked up a 500 ML bottle from the Appalachian VIntner in Asheville 10-28-22 for $8.99. No bottle date; consumed 4-13-23.
Beer poured golden with a very nice long lasting white head.
Nose is very herbal and floral forward.
Taste is a light malt base that is indoctrinated with heavy phenolic compounds including herbal, floral, and peppery notes. Notes of Licorice are very prominent finishes very balanced but with a bit of a piney tone.
Mouthfeel is delightfully light and smooth.
Overall this is a really well executed beer with the adjuncts and yeast strain involved. It is definitely a different animal compared to the baseline Saison style. Took my palate a third of the way through to acclimate and appreciate the ingredients used.
