they call this an apricot ale, its a little rough and ready i reckon, something a bit off in the ferment, but the apricot part presents as natural and is not hard to identify in aroma or flavor, i put down the whole pint but wouldnt go for a second, its both sweet and a little sharp, too full on the grain side to be a summer ripper, not quite clean enough to be refreshing either. bronze colored, just off from clear under a short white head, unassuming. the nose is apricot jelly, juicy and a little tart, not too sweet to me, but with a little astringency happening perhaps from the ferment, and plenty of pale and light crystal malt support, the base hits somewhere between a not real hoppy old school pale, and a lighter amber or copper ale, the fruit is readily apparent but not overdosed to me. the flavor is similar, quite a bit of toasty and bready malts with granola and maple character setting up an almost concentrated fruit profile, hints of orange marmalade and dried apricot with the fresher and jelly personalities the apricot also has. the tang that creeps is is not bacterial or an infection like that, but it also doesnt seem like it comes from the fruit on purpose either, and it gives this just a little amateurish thing on the finish, right after the flavor apex it comes apart a little, but overall i think they get a lot of fruit character into this beer, support it well with some sturdy malt, and have a flavorful and even interesting fruit beer here...

Taster at brewery. Dark golden pour, wispy head. Fruity aroma, fresh apricot. Taste is more subdued than the taste, but still a nice hint of apricot flavors with a clean finish.
