16oz can canned 11/17/22 into a pint glass.
L: Pours rich, deep lightly pale vibrant light gold w a thin white head w light retention, VG persistent carbo, good lacing w some light sheeting & banding.
S: Pineapple, mango, papaya, floral, bread dough, a hint of bubble gum, lightly grassy, fairly clean.
T: Bright tropical fruits, citrus, grapefruit zest, a hint of berries, sweet caramelized malts, quite clean, slightly herbal, a resinous finish. Moderately bitter with peppery hops.
F: Gently crisp, clean, smooth med to med-light body w a med-long drying finish and a bright & tall linger.
O: A delicious WCIPA. Malt shines a bit more with warming. Great balance. 7.1%ABV is hidden. It is excellent in its style.

@2beerdogs sent this my direction as part of a ninja strike during NBS BIF #16

Very clear pale yellow... I held it up and could watch the TV through the glass. This pleases me. Nice tight white head that settles to some light puffs and looks like it's leaving nice lacing.

Nose is bright sweet citrus that takes a mildly floral/grassy direction as well. Smells bright, smells inviting. Pale malts underneath that provide a nice clean pallet upon which to transport the hop notes.

Bright citrusy notes up front that transform very quickly into a sharp piney bitterness which just as quickly recedes to a back end that has some floral and sweet citrus before coming back around AGAIN for a bold pithy finish.

The finish is bold and bitter and right up my alley. There's an element that lingers, but not with the bitterness that highly hopped brews can often achieve.

Simcoe is a hop that I go back and forth on... when used well it can be great, but it can also be sharp and borderline cloying. This is a really really lovely simcoe IPA.

Thanks Derek for sending this my direction!

32 day old can into imperial tulip pint.

Clear golden with a finger of white medium density head with good retention but left limited lacing.

Earthy and dank, pine in tow, some papaya once warm.

Taste follows the nose well, perhaps with additional dimension of some subtle floral aspects. Finishes with moderate bitterness, hangs on the palate slightly.

Low-medium bodied with moderate carbonation, slick on the tongue and swallow.

A really nice Simcoe IPA, would love to try again fresher.

Type: 16-oz. can
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. snifter glass
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $3.29
Purchased: March 29, 2019
Consumed: March 30, 2019
Reviewed as: American IPA
Misc.: Canned on March 16, 2019

Grabbed one of these for me, and one each for Chad and Bill, on a recent stop at Windmill Farms. Basically just saw Beachwood and Simcoe and I was in. Can description was, “Side to side, back to front, coast to coast, 100% Simcoe.”

Poured a golden clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of off-white frothy head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom and along the sides of the glass. Outstanding spotty lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25)

Smelled Simcoe, pine, papaya, passion fruit, apricot, peach, black pepper and garlic. More Simcoe and black pepper from the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted Simcoe, black pepper, papaya, passion fruit, pine, garlic, apricot, purple grape and spoiled fruit. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, spicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)

An outstanding single-hop IPA. Made me think Simcoe needs some friends which I didn’t used to think. (Overall - 4.00)

Straight up average like getting a C in math on your report card. It speaks to me, but at the same time, it doesn’t really speak to me, ya feel me? Hella average like buying a Slurpee, but not adding a lil something something to it.

Raul understands mediocrity, but from the boys from Beachwood, he expects a little more.
