At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 500mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. My first beer from the Bad Kostritz, Germany brewery...

Wow, a new German Pils that I never had before. No idea what an Edel Pils is, I guess I'm about to find out.
Mega smooth head, incredibly so. Tiny bubbles. Quite intense golden colour. Looks amazing. Aroma of refreshing malt and light hops.
Taste is natural and pure. A little fruity, some lemon and pear. Reminds me a little of some of Zipfer's offerings. This is incredibly well balanced with multiple flavour elements. Tastes natural and healthy, and has a good energy. Mega full and creamy mouth feel. I'm loving the mega balanced sophisticated flavour also with the fairly light hops and malt. Although my favourite beers are usually American West Coast IPA's, this kind of beer, like Zipfer, is totally amazing and deserves a mega high rating.

A very nice light tasting pilsner. Quite refreshing and easy to drink. No bitterness with a pleasant fine hopped taste.

500ml can purchased from the LCBO. Canning date of November 10, 2023, so reasonably fresh by import standards.
L: Super clear straw hue with a thin ring of white head. A few speckles of lacing on the glass.
S: Classic bready malt profile, vaguely sweet, with mild sulphur and a hint of herbal hop.
T: Mostly follows the nose.
F: Crisp light to medium mouthfeel, appley-sweet middle, quick semi-dry finish.
O: A very basic German pilsner that drinks like a North American pale lager, minus the rice and corn. Not bad, but there are much better takes on this style.

Very refreshing, drinkable German pilsner, a bargain at Ontario's LCBO. More personality than the mainstream standards. I return to it regularly.

Crystal clear yellow gold with a good quality white head that has some staying power. Good lacing on the way down. Lots of fine carbonation action. Has a simple classic look. Nose is quiet grassy hops. Hoppy and bitter in character with enough malt. Again, simple stuff, nothing fancy. Very slight bite from carbonation. Finish is some sweetness and lingering slightly dry bitterness. Average stuff without any big faults.

Not sure if edel pils is a separate genre but it is pretty darn good! I liked the way it tasted and felt, normal/mild carbonation, perfect hop/malt balance, almost like a Czech lezak (but of course lighter and more refreshing, in the good German tradition)
Got to get some more Kostritzers, they are pretty good!

500 mL can from the LCBO; dated Feb 16 2022 and served slightly chilled. A newcomer to Ontario beer shelves, and one of the most affordable in its category to boot - needless to say, this'll be a regular purchase if it's any good.
Pours a clear, sunny golden yellow colour, stirring up one finger of loose, soapy white head that lasts for three minutes or so. By then, it has been reduced to a tight collar and narrow ring of lacing - it's makin' me thirsty, that's for sure. Bready malts and cereal grain sweetness on the nose, with faint suggestions of grassiness and appleskin.
It's not bad - grainy at first, with bready malts and crackery sweetness developing not long after. On the back end, noble hops impart floral notes and hints of grassy hay, as well as some mild to moderate bitterness that lingers momentarily into a bready aftertaste. Light in body, with middling carbonation that lends a nice, crisp bite to this pilsner's relatively smooth, soft mouthfeel. Superb drinkability; I could easily drink a couple of these in a row, and possibly considerably more on a weekend.
Final Grade: 3.58, a B grade. No doubt there are better German pilsners out there than Köstritzer's, but I'd absolutely take Edel Pils over most of the common big name Euro lagers (think Heineken, Stella, et al.), and not just because it's cheaper than all of them... although that's a nice bonus, am I right? I'll be buying a few of these every time I see 'em, and I'd strongly encourage other value-minded Euro lager lovers to check it out.

Pours crystal clear gold colour with a dense white head on top. Corny and grainy on the nose. Same goes for the taste, grains and corn, a bit of metallic with hops in the background. Similar to most Euro lagers, in my opinion

500 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for under $3 CDN.
Appearance - Pristine clear golden brew with egg shell white head of about a finger and a half that lasts for a medium duration. Lots of visible bubbles rise to the top too.
Smell - Some grainy notes, light grassy notes in behind. Pretty straightforward and thankfully absent of any metallic notes.
Taste - Clean, grainy with some bready qualities, light grassy bitterness afterwards. Some crackery qualities in between, giving extra depth.
Mouthfeel - Crisp, well carbonated and semi-dry finish.
Overall - A fine German pils that holds up well. Not much to differentiate on, but this was certainly pleasant on a warm summer's night.
