Marcus is one of our flagship Cerealia™ Ales. Crafted with European malted barley and wheat, European noble hops, and our house mixed culture, it is tart, refreshing, and delicate. Conditioned for many months and naturally carbonated, we taste notes of apricot, peach, white wine, and raspberry.
It is named after Marcus Aurelius (121-180 CE), who was the last of the “Five Good Emperors" during the Roman Empire. He is known for his Stoic philosophical text “Meditations”, which still influences and inspires people to this day.

Slightly foggy light amber with a moderately tall, lumpy off-white head that audibly fizzles down, but not too quickly.

Smell seems intensely sour, sort of like peach, oaky balsamic, yet a little cheesy and nutty too.

However, taste is far more balanced, as barny, semi-bitter brett leads into verdant orchardy vibes with some strawberries and fresh peaches. Drying, bleu-ish oak finishes the swallow, along with a sort of pungent overripe fruit as well, perhaps like jackfruit. The old lady loves it more than I do.
