an impressive and clean fruited sour ale done with strawberry and rhubarb, well ahead of modest expectations for this newish little spot i popped into, but its lovely beer, nice back and forth between the two added ingredients, not too sour, not too sweet from the berries, very pungent and natural on the rhubarb, even ahead of the strawberries which is never really the case when they pair up together, pretty color too, deep pink to ruby red, jewel toned, and rather clear as these go, quite well refined, and very clean on the souring, flattering lemon note but not acetic or harsh in the least, could have more than one pint of this one. very little head but the carbonation is fine. nose of homemade strawberry jam in the best way, natural tangy astringent rhubarb, and just a bit of citrus, summery more than fall timey, but nevermind that, its complex and awesome, very little grain, but i dont miss it, juicy and fresh to me. strawberry and rhubarb are both obvious in the flavor, so fresh and to me quite real, especially the rhubarb, like its impressive and intense in a good way, first and last thing i taste, and just the right amount of sweetness overall here, lighter bodied, a little bit soda-like, but the flavor is great, very professional on the souring too, not overdone and tidy as they get. high quality beer here, worth heading in for a pour of it before its gone, these guys have a nice little thing going it seems like, i liked this a lot! something almost addicting about it...
