Beer has come to be a word that represents a wide range of styles these days. This is one of them. For this particular one we have added quite a few mangos, a considerable amount of lactose (milk) sugar, as well as vanilla to smooth the whole thing over for that real "milkshakey" experience. Mmmm!

Mango Milkshake pours a hazy orange color, with some chunks, and not much head. Aroma is mild, lots of sweet vanilla ice cream notes. Flavor is a bit mild, but has hints of mango, and lots of vanilla ice cream notes. A bit flat feel. Overall, this is a nice mango ice cream ale, sweet, yet not to sweet, and its very drinkable.

Decanted for a 12 oz (355 ml) can into a custom tasting pint glass; canned on 04/04/2019.
A: Pours a very hazy golden-orange color (think aged brass) with a less than one inch, white head, spotty islands of retention and limited, although not absent lacing. Not really getting the vanilla.
S: Aromas of mango (of course), ripe peach, orange, and caramel. Fruity and a little funky as it warms.
T: Sweet. Flavor gives an outsized sense of fruit candy, think of grabby a handful of different flavored Pixie Stix, but if I had to tease them out, mango, orange Pixie Stick (a neologism for the singular), and caramel sucker. If I am tasting vanilla in this, it seems to be buried. Bitterness most on the back end.
M: Medium bodied with low effervescence. Creamy on the palate.
O: Reasonably enjoyable and very drinkable. Not a big fan of Milkshake IPAs, but this was interesting.

Got in a trade with GreenBayBA. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 4/4/2019. Pours opaquely hazy/murky medium orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty cap that lingers. Light spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of big lightly tart/tangy mangoes, melon, fruit skin, tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of mangoes, citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops, lactose, vanilla, and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart/tangy mangoes, melon, fruit skin, tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; and light fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy mangoes, melon, fruit skin, tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of mangoes, citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops, lactose, vanilla, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/lactose/bitterness and tart/tangy fruit balance. Lightly increasing lingering hop/fruit astringency, but not too overwhelming. Fairly crisp finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and tart/tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready/grainy, sticky/resinous/rindy, and light acidic/tangy fruit mouthfeel that is good. A bit too resinous/drying. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.6%. Overall this is a delicious fruited milkshake NEIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of mangoes, citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops, lactose, vanilla, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, easy, and fairly crisp to drink, despite the increasingly bitter/resinous/drying finish. Solid softness, and not too overly aggressive. Great Amarillo, Mosaic, Citra profile. Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hops/fruit; with a nice lactose and wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering crisp resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on April 27, 2019. Brewed with mangos, lactose sugar, as well as vanilla. There is a nice balance of mango and vanilla. Sweet but no overly so.

A: The beer is hazy dark yellow in color. It poured with a half finger high white head that quickly settled down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles coating the surface and a collar around the edge fo the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of vanilla are present in the nose along with notes of lactose.
T: The taste follows the smell and is a little sweet with flavors of milk sugars and vanilla along with hints of mangos.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied, somewhat smooth, and a bit juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: With the slight amount of sweetness and all of the vanilla flavors I would consider this more to be a dessert beer than a milkshake IPA. It seems like it could have used more mangos in both the smell and taste.

Look is hazy light orange small head. Poured out of tap at Camino in Walkers point.
White head fades quick. Doesn't look like a super dense milkshake though, unfortunately.
Mango all over the nose. Not super vibrant though.
Drinks all mango tart. Doesn't have any vanilla though. kinda disappointing.
Finish is a little sweet. Mouthfeel is lacking what I would want in a Milkshake.
Seems like an effort to jump on the bandwagon rather than master the art.

12 oz can dated (finally! thank you!) 4/4/19 into Crane snifter.

Dark burnt orange color, juicy looking but not particularly shake-like; loosely knit head of 1/2 finger breaking up into a thin line.

Mangoes on the nose, with hints of dank, grass, and gym bag.

Flavor starts with wet grass, and veers into mango, orange, and tangerine. Alcohol heat follows. Slightly dirty, but a really nice juicy fruit presence.

Feel is very prickly but has some decent creaminess underneath, and then alcohol heat and very slight lingering resins.

Overall, nothing that will blow your socks off but this was pretty decent either way.
