Freshly dumped bourbon barrels are used to age maple syrup from B&E's Trees. We then get those little gems back and age one of our massive stouts in them. This time we've added something extra with a heavy dose of cold pressed coffee from our neighbors at Ruby Coffee in Nelsonville.

A big thanks to Jeff for this one. 22oz. capped bomber into a Founders snifter. Shared with schen9303.
Nose is coffee, chocolate, molasses, sweet cream, lactose, and booze. Dense and very aromatic. Beer opens with layers of maple, espresso, cold brew, and chocolate. Mocha, cocoa powder, and molasses in the middle with syrup, more coffee and fudge at the finish. Delicious. The exact flavors I want from my imperial stout. Body is full with low carbonation. Rich and chewy on the palate and goes down warm with a sticky, lingering aftertaste.
Central Waters... still turning out incredible beer after all these years.

rating milestone #3,500!
750ml bottle poured into SP wine stem.
Appearance: Jet black bodied stout. Pours a tall mocha colored head. Lacing on the side of the glass.
Smell: Coffee and maple with a hint of oaky bourbon! Nice balanced aroma's here.
Taste: Leads with a strong coffee note. Middle of the beer has balanced notes of oak tannins, bourbon, earthy and sweet maple, and dark chocolates. Hints of Pecan Praline ice cream notes seem to come and go as you sip. The beer finishes sweet as the maple sweetness continues to build strength. Coffee adds a lightly bitter bite at the end to help balance the sweetness of the maple. Maple and coffee continue to linger long after each sip.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied stout with a thin yet sticky body. I think that the heft is about right for the 10.5% abv. creamy and pricky carbonation. Ever so light dry and sticky finish. Not very booze heavy either which is nice.
Overall: The coffee adds a nice dimension and balance to BG&E maple barrel stout. BG&E maple barrel stout was very sweet and a bit cloying to me. Buttered Pecan Maple Stout and Coffee Maple Stout are both upgrades and improve upon the BG&E maple barrel stout. This is a thinner than usual version of a bourbon barrel maple coffee stout, but CW makes a nice effort and it turns out to be a great stout.
