This label used Elijah Craig barrels, which had bourbon aging in them for just shy of 19 years! Elijah Craig barrels have been a staple in our program for decades now. The majority of our bourbon barrel aging program spends time in 12 year Elijah Craig barrels, and we were extremely pleased to have 18 year Elijah Craig barrels become available to us (you'll actually see these barrels show up in another release later this year)!

I haven’t driven the 3 ½ hours each way for all the 25 variants, but I’m beginning to think I should have. This one is aged in 18 year old Elijah Craig barrels for 38 months. 22 oz. bottle split with the wife.

Even with a hard pour this big boi doesn’t hold with the bubbles, & stares back like the Pits of Anguish in Diablo. Black, that is. Like its EC counterpart, the aroma is all booze & barrel. Nice.

Twenty Five – Elijah Craig Bourbon Barrels (Copper Label) isn't playin’ around. EC booms out of the glass, cutting a canyon of alcohol down into my core Malts present sweetness & hold up admirably to the bourbon onslaught. Burn, & drying wood round out a vicious, simple beer… & I mean that in the best possible way.

Pay attention, U.S. brewers. This is what you attain to when you’re not putting chicory, weasel poop, & bait root into your beer. The marriage of bourbon & base beer is exquisite
