22oz bottle. Aged in the barrel for 6 years. The bottle is about 19 months old. 15.2% ABV. A basement floor pull chilled a little in the fridge before drinking. I sipped on this bottle for almost 2 hours. Drank 6/15/2025.
At first the taste was good but seemed weak or faded. But after it got a chance to breathe the flavors came out and showed some strength. This didn't seem to be temperature related as I put the cap half back on the bottle and put it back the fridge till the next pour. The bottle had some carbonation in it that seemed to be slowly released. The fourth/final pour produced a short head.
Taste is chocolate, caramel, dark fruit, plus a little roast, molasses, wood and vanilla. The flavors have good balance. This beer has some barrel strength, I would say about medium strength. There is a little alcohol heat/burn at any temp. Slightly sweet overall, fairly smooth. The mouthfeel/body seems slightly thicker than some of the other CW beers from the 25th Anny series.
I will give it a 4.41/5 overall.
