On tap at Mule Bar in Winooski, VT.
This one pours a clear rusted orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like orange peel, grapefruit, toasted malt, and some pine.
This is a very basic, almost 1980s style pale ale, with just a hint of fruit, and mostly clean, bitter hop character, and a light but supportive toasty malt character. It’s a slightly less punchy and less malty version of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, probably due to the lower ABV.
Despite the lower ABV, it drinks bigger, with a nice drinkability, and crisp clean finish.
I don’t know when I’d ever see this again, but I’d buy this in cans for longer days of consumption – it’s a solid little pale ale.
