My first from this nano who contract brewed S & S at Cohop (who has 29 beers on UnTappd and none are S&S, so I think I got the story right without knowing the language.) Anyway, this nano has existed long enough to have 23 beers with 3,200+ Uniques on UnTapped of which S&S has 229.
And while that doesn't show tons of experience, S&S shows a thoughtful understanding of the saison whose main purpose is to make food taste better. Today's lunch was so simple (pasteurized cheese on multi-grain bread) that S&S could only make it better. But S&S actually made lunch good. While S&S's Looks didn't last (nice foam went fast) and its Smells were mild (fruity, but mild), S&S had a very balanced Taste and the fruit added flavor to the sandwich and the hops dragged out the finish of S&S and the otherwise bland sandwich. Light in my mouth, S&S still was effective enough with its bubbles to cleanse the palate for another bite.
As for the huge Overall Hugs I give for S&S, it's not just for this saison. But also for the nano and their contract brewer (cooperative I assume) and how impressed I am that this good a table ale can be made by Brussels next generation of brewing excellence. They must have studied with the masters.
